Weekend in Qindao
I've just had an excursion to Qindao (pronounced tChindao), the coastal city for the Olympic Games yachting in August, and ate too much food and drank too much beer.
A slide show can be seen by clicking here. (No titles yet, sorry!)
And here is a lovely video - first of school children at recess, then a bird man I found in the park, teaching his birds how to sing.
(million) Census 2000 Shanghai 14.2 Beijing 10.3 Guangzhou [Canton] 7.5 Tianjin [Tientsin] 6.8 Wuhan 6.7 Shenzhen 6.4 Chongqing [Chungking] 5.1 Shenyang 4.6 Chengdu [Chengtu] 4.3 Foshan 4.0 Xi'an [Sian] {Xian} 3.9 Dongguan 3.9 Nanjing [Nanking] 3.8 Harbin 3.6 Hangzhou [Hangchou] 3.2 Shantou 3.1 Dalian [Dairen] 2.9 Jinan 2.8 As Jinan's population is now estimated at 5.9m it is fair to double all these figures for current population. Latest estimate for whole of China: 1,300 million
